Mya's CP Surgery Trip

Organized by Mya's Surgery Fund

How exciting!
Well we are off to Galveston tomorrow. We had hoped to get into the Ronald McDonald House, but they are full with NICU baby families and such. Understand, but disappointed a little as I was hoping to make the money stretch as far as possible. Did get a call from the hospital and we will have to pay all of Mya's $1,000 Deductable toward this surgery. She is quite excited however. I thought having her little brother's surgery a few days ago might have freaked her out a little, but not this girl. She is ready to run faster and jump higher as she tells everyone. Thanks you all for your support, both financially and prayerfully. I look forward to sharing the results!

It really is amazing what people you never have met will do for you in a time of need. The guy's I play video game with, when I have some free time, have put together a Charity Call of Duty 4 Tournament in support of Mya. This is really amazing and Naomi and I are truly dumbfounded by it.

All of the funds raised will help us pay for the expenses associated with this surgery. This will include but is not limited too, Travel, Lodging, Meals, Surgery, Recovery Braces and other unexpected costs. Braces alone cost us over $2,500 last year and should run about the same. We are still awaiting insurances decision on how much they will cover, but we think it will fall under our $4,000 out of pocket maximum.

We truly are living the American Medical "Dream" that is a hot topic of discussion these days.

Wow!
Naomi and I are so thankful for the generosity you all have shown us. A bunch of you are guys I play video games or chat on boards with. Never even met, but you have opened your pocket books to help our daughter and us.

We are truly thankful to all of you and thanks for your support both financially and prayerfully!
Kicking off!
As some of you know Mya our 5 1/2 year old daughter has Cerebral Palsy. We have recently found out about a new procedure that will help herwalk more uniformly.

It will last for five years and acts likea Super Botox, which has done wonderful things for her, but onlylasted two short months.

This procedure is very non-invasive,however only five doctors in the world do it. We are lucky enough thatone of them is in Galveston and has an opening on the 23rd of July. This will allow her to be cast free and ready for her first year ofschool in Kindergarten.

I feel strange asking for assistance, but with my most recent employer doing layoffs which I was caught in,we need some help to make this happen. We are asking for enough to getus lodging, gas and food for the trip. If you can help, we would betruly thankful, if you can't then thanks for looking!
